I am chickening out on weighing in tomorrow! I'm afraid I haven't lost the 10 pounds I set out to loose. Now that I think of it I would really need to work out 4-5 hours a day to loose 10 pounds. I'll take what I get though, even if it's only a 1 pound loss (I say that now huh)? I do think that I might wait till Monday now though....you know why? Because of the weekend! I do NOT want to see a big loss then cheat over the weekend because I was able to drop a lot of weight. The most I've lost is probably 2-3 pounds. We'll see, I don't feel much different except a huge surge of energy.
Remember those stairs I was talking about yesterday at the beach? Well I went up those stairs 10 times at lunch! 10 times!!!! I tried to go up those stairs twice a couple of years ago and I was dying! But I was SOOOO determined this time, I was in biggest looser mode. I pushed myself really hard! Then I came back home, worked for a few more hours then that's when I needed a nap. My husband dropped my daughter off shortly after and we went for a bike ride. I didn't quite do my 3 hours yesterday though. My daughter started complaining that her behind hurt her so we headed home after 30 minutes. I was going to go for an additional bike ride or walk but I had to go to the grocery store again to get the essentials. I actually went by myself and it was nice! Alexis wanted to stay home so she watched the kids. She hasn't been here all that much so they had a ball with her.
Well, here's to another day in paradise ;-) God Bless.
Psalm 16:7-11
7I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.
8I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
9Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.
10For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
11Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
Ahhh my gym is closed for two days! They totally gave me last minute notice! Well I guess it's ok. I can work out with my kids outdoors I suppose. We are getting more new equipment which is great and it's going to take them 2 days to get them set up. So for now it's going to be the killer stairs at the beach on ocean which is a couple of miles away and the bike trail.

I'm going to have to invite someone to go with me for the stairs though because obviously I can't make my kiddos go up those stairs with me. As it is Alani is limping because we walked to the gym yesterday. It was my fault because I let her wear her Crocs and that wasn't really smart. Next time she's wearing her sneakers! I actually regretted walking there because I am so paranoid but I wanted to sneak in an extra hour of workout which I did! So yesterday 4 hours of working out. Grant it, that hour was more of casual walking but I was still walking/moving. I wore my new calorie counter watch and I burned 220 calories with that walk .
I am so tempted to jump on my scale but I won't. My stomach feels less bloated and my legs are a bit firmer but that's about it. My face looks thinner in the morning but bloated in the afternoon. Maybe it's my water intake. I know I didn't drink that much water yesterday. I'm out of water and a few things at home so I'm going to run to Smart & Final after work. My lunch time is reserved for working out and I'll still need to fit in 2 more hours after work.... Alright well I managed to bore myself. I know I had more things to talk about but forgot. Ta ta for now. God Bless!
Is that right 107? Wow. My buttocks hurt!!! My gym has these new bike's with a TV and it's interactive. Basically I stayed on for 35 minutes so I could finish my course. When you slow down, other riders in this videogame type of thing pass you up so it motivates you to speed up. There are all sorts of scenery and workout levels to chose from. It was quite interesting! I had not been on a bike for a while and most of you know that if you're not used to riding, the next day when you sit down you feel all sorts of soreness. Ouch.

Then on my lunch break, I went for an actual real bike ride making my behind even more sore. My husband was supposed to come home to relieve me of my wife/mother duties at 6:30pm and was a no show! I called him and heard this "yeah I think I might be late...more like 7:30pm, you can still make it to the gym right"? My response was "um....yeah...I guess...". Then 8pm rolls around, no husband no daughter. They both call me "Yeah we're still in Torrance....getting ready to leave in a minute"....by this time I was upset. There was no more childcare available at the gym! It was my first day of my "I'm going to work out for 3 hours" and I had only 1 hour to go, I was NOT going to fail! So what did I do? I whipped out my kid-bike trailer thing-a-ma-bob, hitched it onto my bike and worked out like a madwoman for an hour. Here's a photo of it, except Alani is 2 years older (and heavier) and there's also a boy by the name of Gabriel that clutched on to his juice and made sure he had his snacks with him...and weighs in at 20-some-odd pounds.
I only rode down a few blocks away from my house but that was enough! I never realized how much of an incline there is on each street! Going down hill was heaven but coming back up...well you know. When I got off that bike it was instant relief. I think my eyes even rolled back from how good it felt! I can't believe I worked out on a bike ALL day long. I walked on the gym treadmill earlier in the day but only to finish off my hour workout in the morning. So day 1 of my "3 hour workout" promise to myself is COMPLETE! I was determined, my kids were happy to go on the ride, and now I am happy because I set out to do what I said I was going to do. AMEN to that! Today should be much easier because husband is in trouble and he knows it! Oh AND I made him dinner that he didn't eat. It looked REALLY good too. Chocolate shakes are better though! LOL...Till later...God Bless!

I didn't get to post yesterday because I woke up late for church. Since we are working on the bus ministry and we miss the 11am service we attend 9AM service. We went to the beach on Saturday - last minute decision (that's totally us). We went to Huntington Beach because the water is nice and clean and it's only 13 miles from here and since we take Pacific Coast Highway to get there, the entire way you see beach so it's just a nice ride there altogether. My husband missed his 2 classes at the bible institute but it was a nice break for him. My kids had a blast and Gabriel could not believe we were letting him play with the sand. He was looking at me the whole time waiting for me to tell him "NO"! He kept picking up handfuls of sand and throwing it up in the air. After the sun went down we went up to the Huntington Beach Pier and went fishing. We didn't catch anything but we had a good time. I didn't take my camera but I got some of these pics online. It was a nice day to relax.
Weight related update: I ate a couple of tortillas this weekend with my lean and green! I am not dissapointed though because although I could of refrained I didn't. I had a shrimp cocktail which was only 280 calories so I decided to have 2 tostadas with it because they both go together. Yesterday I decided that I CAN loose another 10 pounds in one week and I will! But this time I need to really work out. So I had a little meeting with my family and this is the plan. I am going to the gym REALLY early in the morning before work for an hour. Then on my lunch break I am riding my bike in the neighborhood for about 40 minutes. Then once I am done making dinner, I am going to the gym for another hour. I've challeged myself to do this before and I failed miserably but that's because I don't get up in the morning early enough to work out. I get up to start work but that's about it. My bedtime HAS to be 9pm so that I can get up early without being horribly tired. So that's the plan and I'm not coming on here with excuses. I am also NOT going to weigh until Friday morning. I want to be surprised with a BIG number and I don't want to be discouraged by my daily weigh in. I know first hand that working out causes a temporary weight gain so I figured that if that happens to me, #1 I won't KNOW about it and #2 It will show a big loss by Friday. So here's to an excise-filled week and I am SO SO SO excited about it! I'm also doing straight-shakes all week UNLESS I start to feel weak from all the workouts. I am going to drink two shakes at lunch though so I can keep my energy levels up and I don't feel like cheating!
God Bless!
I was in such a weird mood yesterday. I was not hungry ALL day long and I was a little bit down under. My stomach no longer has hunger pangs even when I didn't feed it for hours (my bad). I guess it has finally accepted that a cheeseburger and fries is not going to land in there. When it smells fries (there was fries and burgers in my car yesterday-not for me of course) it got hungry but as soon as I was away from the smell it was ok again. I miss my hubby. He's around. He lives here and everything he's just been busy with ministry stuff for a few weeks and I only see him for like an hour or two before we go to bed. But by that time, he's too tired to hear me yap away. My sole companions have been a three year old that starts talking a mile a minute about funny weird things when I tell her I'm taking them to the park and a 1 1/2 year old that asks me for "SNAA" all day long (Snacks). He's like a little puppy. He picks up my frames off my tables brings them to me and says "Heeee" (here) and "Eh-n up" (clean up) - yes the kid thinks he's cleaning. Anyway, so I got outta the house yesterday, went to the mall and my husband met me there. It was nice spending some time with him. Although everything was rushed in a sense because there were kids to be picked up and I had to come home and make food for RU. Ok that was my pity party for myself. I hope today we can spend some more quality time together after we do some other church things this morning.
Ok weight wise - down to 239.4 this moring and body fat went down (on my scale) to 47.5%. I am down 1.4 pounds from yesterday and total weight loss thus far is 13 pounds. I shared how God's has everything to do with my weight loss during our Reformer's "testimony time" last night. I said I was going to give God the glory when someone asked me how I lost the weight but I thought I was going to do it on my own. I was completely wrong. If it not for Him I would not be going this strong. God Bless.
I'm getting closer and closer to the 90's! I got on the scale this AM to a .2 gain!So instead of being 240.8 I went up to 241. BUT my body fat went down a half percent to 48% which is better! I didn't change my weight on my little tracker thing to the right because it's only .2. I had a lean & green dinner last night as well and my chicken breast was probably a bit bigger than it should have been but that's ok. I only had 3 shakes as well so I need to stay on target. I was just busy yesterday and not very hungry. Today is another 100% shake day.
I took my kids to the park after work. I walked there and they rode in their wagon. On the way home my arms were killing me because it was like I was hauling around 60 pounds of weight (the kids plus wagon). I wanted to step up my workout yesterday but I never got the time. I had to go grocery shopping when I got back and did two loads of laundry once I finshed putting the groceries away AND feeding the kids. My son is still recovering. I thought he was all better so I gave him some milk for dinner. BIG MISTAKE. He could not keep it down and let's just say I spent about an hour at 10pm cleaning up a huge mess & giving him a bath. I was pretty exausted by the time I went to bed.
Today I am taking a sick day. I want to clean my house, get out of the house for a little while then come back and make something for RU tonight. I'm going to make carrot cake muffins and egg salad sandwiches. I bought the kids in the nursery some chex mix for snack time as well.
Alrighty well I am off since the day will fly by I am sure. Hope you have a nice weekend! It's supposed to be in the 80's here so I am hoping to go for a nice bike ride :-) God Bless!
For once I had the opportunity to work out but I didn't! It was day 1 of TOM and you know how that is...plus I had no energy so I took a mini nap instead! I'll try and get out to work out today. I woke up at 1am with a HUGE migraine today. I am sure my iron is low. Usually is right about now. So I am going to start taking my multi vitamins like I'm supposed to be doing but keep forgetting to put them in the freezer so I don't taste them all day long.
I went out and shopped a little yesterday. I bought a purse, a heart rate and calorie tracker monitor (and watch) and some new bras! The bras alone is like a shopping spree. I always buy them at Ross though because I like BALI bras and those are like $32 a pop. I had gone down from a DD to a D then to a C for the first time in my life after I finished breastfeeding my son. So when I tried on a few C's they were too small and I was quite dissapointed. I've not been able to buy cute shirts in the past because my twin friends always ruined it. So I got some D bras and those too were too small. Now I'm back to DD. Maybe they'll shrink again once I loose this weight. I heard that some of the back workouts helped minimize the boobage so going to try those once I get the motivation to work on them at the gym.
Anyway, I stayed on track yesterday! Shakes only. I was this close to eating a lean & green dinner but Alexis talked me out of it. Love my daughter. As always, I drank my shake and I was totally fine. That's the thing you have to remember, you have to stick to your schedule or you will try and get off plan. I would not of eaten pizza or anything but sticking to plan gets harder. If you don't you start the stage of "suffering" or "feeling sorry for yourself". Once you have that shake you want to smack yourself "like what's the matter with you"!!! So thank God He got me through another day.
As of today I am down to 240.8! Almost 12 pounds and I can't believe I am actually excited to be entering the 230's again. I weighed 231 when my son was 2 months old. I can't believe I gained 25 pounds AFTER having a baby. Wow. I'm human and I let food be my comfort for a year and a half and that was the end result. I'm just happy I'm getting rid of it for good this time.
Time to get my cup of coffee and back to work. Chat later. God Bless.
Well TOM finally decided to show it's face this month. Although I have had a light one going on 2 weeks. This happens when my weight gets out of control and I stop taking my meds. So I can't wait for it to go away. My poor husband, he's gettin'no lovin.
I went for a walk after having dinner alone last night. I fed my kids at around 5:30 because they were so hungry. I had the same dinner I had the night before and I only had 3 shakes yesterday which is too few calories. I figured I was not going to loose much with the combination of TOM, too few calories and a day following a sick stomach. The scale still showed a loss though of .2 pounds but a .5% loss as well for my body fat so that assured me that all was well.
Today I am doing all shakes and a protein soup for dinner so I can join the family for dinner. Although the chicken and salad is still healthy I need to know that I can stick to a day of all shakes if I really needed to. I drank tons of water yesterday but not until the evening. I need to work on drinking water in between my shakes. Florence at work gave me this Protein Water that's supposed to make you feel full. Going to try it tomorrow to see how it works. I will probably drink it between my last snack and tomorrow's dinner. Even though I feel hunger pangs, I usually don't pay attention to them. I don't actually FEEL hungry but my stomach does. Anyway, here's to another day 1. I started 1 week ago today and thank God am down 9.6 pounds total! God Bless.
I'm at work today so I had to get up 2 hours earlier than I usually do so I am a bit more tired than usual. Yesterday I went up to Signal Hill twice. Once on my lunch and once in the evening. Leah called me because she was up there walking and I had just finished having dinner with my family. Alexis baked a chicken breast for me and I prepared 2 cups of spring salad with 45 calorie balsamic vinaigrette. Chicken and salad has NEVER tasted so good and for only 328 calories! I opted to have dinner again last night because I've been sick to my stomach since adding my second pill of Metformin so my stomach was literally empty. Anyway, I was satisfied after dinner and headed out the door. A second walk was much needed.
Weight this AM was 243 on the dot. Grand total is 9.4 pounds! I don't expect to loose much today though because like I said, I was sick to my stomach. We'll see. I plan to take a morning walk on my break and another one in the afternoon. When I get home I will take another walk up the hill just to keep my metabolism going. I used a Keto stick this morning and guess what? I've never showed such a dark color! I was at +40 which means that I am burning fat. The highest I have ever been able to get was +15 so that was definitely the extra boost I needed! Sure you can say drinking shakes, liquid soups is difficult but you know what? When you can't control yourself when you are trying to watch what you eat (dieting) then taking that time to step away from food and allowing it to slowly filter in, you appreciate it so much more! This week has been SO SO SO much easier! Hopefully the hard part is over and I can just continue to chug along. My weight loss goal each week starting tomorrow will be 3.5 pounds which is 1/2 a pound a day. I know I'm not going to loose 10 pounds a week and I think 3.5 pounds is certainly realistic with the amount of calories I am taking in. Well gotta get to work. God Bless.
That number at the top is looking so much less intimidating. Once it gets down to the 90's it will be even better! I am down to 244.2 as of this morning so another pound making the total 8.2 thus far. Maybe I will make my secret goal of 10 pounds. SO many people say that you really should not weigh everyday...and that works for me too...when I'm cheating and I don't want to know how much I'm gaining! No, really, I do get the point in not weighing everyday because weight fluctuates blah blah...but I weigh at the same time everyday so I think that will show me a loss pretty much everytime.
I had 2 scrambbled egg whites and a little bit of beans for dinner with the family last night. It was supposed to be an all shakes day but I wanted to sit with them and chat over dinner. It was nice. I had to take my son to the hospital yesterday because that kid was and is still worrying me. The doctor ended up saying he had a very bad ear infection which was causing the fevers to hang around. I got his prescription, gave it to him right away but when we go home he didn't want to walk! I started thinking that he was allergic to the amoxicillin but he's had it a handful of times since he was born. We got home and I was encouraging him to walk and he took a few steps and one of his legs shook a bit like it was weak and he got on all fours and started to crawl. This worried me to no end so I called my husband which was at church and he assured me that he was probably too weak. He hasn't really been eating at all for days and he's just really sick. So we'll see today. I am only going to work part of the day today & tomorrow to take care of him.
Once my husband gets home, my plan is it hit the gym for a few hours to see what that will do to my weight loss! I want to do a biggest looser type workout. I KNOW I will not even get close but I am sure going to try. I bought a Prevention magazine and they seem to have a pretty good workout in there and I want to try it. It incorporates interval training so we'll see if I can wrap my head around it. Till later God Bless

Well made it another day! I went for my walk with Leah but she was late and I knew I had to be home by a certain time because of church so I started my walk without her. I am going to take my camera the next time I go up to Signal Hill cause it is such a beautiful walk. It's literally 1/2 a mile away from my house. I'll just record it, stick it on Youtube and post it. Anyway, it was JUST what I needed. I got away, huffed and puffed my way through some of the mini hills, got to enjoy the view of Long Beach and got to spend some time with a friend.
Once home, it was another hectic day. I'm getting worried about my son. He's not getting any better. In fact, I am going to make him an appointment and take him in today. You know with kids, they'll get the flu, they'll have a fever for a day, 2 the most. They won't eat, they'll throw up. But then day 3 is much better. My son is worse. His eyes are low, his fever is high. I slept from 11pm to 1am and I've been up with him ever since. He stayed home all day yesterday and last night Alexis started throwing up. NICE. So no church for me AGAIN. Today is a church picnic and they paid me to make a whole lotta rice, beans and salsa. God got me through doing that cause I just doin't know that after such a LOOOONG day yesterday I was still able to get my butt to the store come home and make all this stuff. Gabriel nodded off and I started to scrub my house down. Again. I had a lot of energy yesterday which really shocked me. My feet are killing me though. Ok well I still have things to do at home, sold some stuff on Ebay and I have to get that stuff ready to ship.
Weight stuff: Ate a Lean and Green meal last night. The problem with that was that it was late when I ate it. Oh well...live and learn. I had 1/8 of a cup of soy nuts, which amounted to about 75 calories. I was regretting eating them but decided to let it go. Drank LOTS of water. Took my meds and I am down .6 of a pound but down 1% of body fat. Today is back to shakes all day, I might throw in a soup..depending on how I feel. Ok well God Bless!
I less day! I'll start with the good news, scale says I am 245.8 this morning which is 6.6 pounds! Not sure if I posted in my last post how the swelling on my face, arms and fingers has gone down? It's such a relief. Now I realize how much distress my body was in. I was like a blown up balloon waiting to pop. What a difference this small weight loss makes.
Anyway, my alarms went off today at 6:30 and I am about to head out the door for a walk with a friend from church, Leah. She wants to get motivated again because she's felt sluggish lately and wants to continue to loose more weight. She has lost over 100 pounds over the last couple of years, just walking and eating right. Unlike me, miss Liquid Diet LOL. Well it worked for her!
Well gonna make my coffee, get my sweater on, shake is ready for when I am done! God Bless! Have a nice Saturday.
Wow..so many emotions in one day can wear one out. I needed church yesterday and I didn't get to go because of my sick son. Fever, day 3 of hardly any eating, and all the good stuff that comes out of the body when one is sick. I haven't caught it...YET. We had a guest preacher last night and according to my husband I must listen to it! Apparantly it's something we all needed to hear. I have a feeling it's going to convict me to no end. I'm currently dissecting the book of Romans but finding it super difficult with my kids. Hopefully I will get some peace and quiet today at some point. Today is Reformers Unanimous program and I need to follow up with a few ladies that are in my group that have not come.
Did I mention that we started going out on a new bus route for church on Saturdays? God had been banging at our door to dedicate our Saturdays to SOMETHING. Pastor asked my husband if we would join the bus ministry and we agreed. God had been preparing our hearts. Our course I didn't want to give up Saturdays! It's our selfish nature! We've been going to the city of Wilmington trying to get some parents and kids to come. It's mostly for kids but the parents are welcome of course! It's been a little tough and I got a little discouraged last week for a brief moment but I know that it's the devil. I know that there's going to be at least ONE kid that will come up to live for Him. There are so many dedicated workers and this bus route will grow. There is already about 300 kids that get picked up every Sunday from inner city Long Beach. There are quite a few bus kids from years past that are now in the ministry and some have surrendered to the missions field.
So emotions...what a rollercoaster I have been. I need to work on controlling myself under severly stressful situations. Like I mentioned yesterday, I think God really wants me to work in this area which is why I have been in like the worst case scenarios. I just get upset and mostly emotional about having to do EVERYTHING at home while my husband is at school or just not here (for legitemate reasons of course). My daughter has not been coming home to help me out with the kids after school as she's been out raising money for the new building at our church. She made a commitment to raise $1000 and she goes candy selling with a lot of the girls. My husband is taking the Earning for Learning kids out candy selling as well. It's funny how God answers your prayers but it's not always exactly as you envisioned it. I prayed for my husband to get much closer to God and he's getting to do that now. Here I am complaining! I'm just lonely I suppose. I need to get out for my lunch break today, I'll have my kids today early this afternoon so I am going to go for a nice long walk with them.
Ok weight loss - 2.6 more pounds. Total loss thus far is 4.8 pounds in 3 days. I think I will probably drop 10 pounds the first week which will most likely be water weight. My fingers feel so much better and my face does not look so swollen! Today I start back on my Metformin, I've been scared to take it because of the headaches it inititally gives me and being on new lifestlye I read you will get headaches in the beginning. I didn't want to give up because of the killer migraines so I held off. I've been taking my blood pressure meds early but by the evening I feel my pressure is elevated. I think I may need to go back to adding a second pill for the day. Sucks but I will only have to do this until i drop all my weight. I get even more woozy and tired with the second dose of meds. I will hopefully only need to take one pill once I drop all this weight! Gotta get back to work so God Bless!
Wondering about the title? Another Day 1...did I cheat already? No! The liquid diet dicussion board has been a great help...great suggestions to keep me motivated. The first thing I picked up was looking at each day as Day 1 because every single day will be challenging on ANY diet. Instead of saying Day 2 of 120 you count backways. Yesterday was Day 1 of 120 today is Day 1 of 119. I like that. I'm down 2.2 pounds today. I am sure 10 pounds of my weight will come off easy since it's water weight.
Someone posted getting off track and not being able to get back on and one of the site monitors said this "many people that start down the road come to the sudden realization that it takes discipline and hard work to succeed. But, once they discover this, they are already 1-2 weeks into the program and past the hard part. So, they may as well keep going. Unfortunately, you are starting again from the ground floor and have to make it through that first difficult week....And, it is because of this knowledge that you are holding back. I would go so far as to say that you understand how hard it can be in the beginning and are simply afraid to go through it. But, to succeed, you are going to need to get through this part and get back to the point where you can do the program on auto pilot and experience all that is ahead of you."
I can relate to what he's saying because I KNOW how it is the first week and he's right, I have refused to FINISH the first week because it IS very hard. What he said there will help keep me on track. It will help me NOT cheat because starting over IS so hard and I don't want to be back where I am right at this minute. The first week. Once I get through this week it will be smoother sailing! I'm in rough water right now, trying not to let my boat sink, but even if it does, I'm a good swimmer, I have my life jacket on for back up and I don't plan on drowning! God Bless!
Today is day 1 of my new Lifestlye Diet. I haven't yet had anything to eat but I will soon. I have to wean myself off of caffeine but for now I am having my cup of coffee. I was not able to attend the Optifast meeting that I really wanted to go to but I ended up having my kids with me. The plan was that my husband was going to take them with him to church but plans changed. I took them out to eat Korean food because that just sounded like a good dinner. It was expensive but good.
My son woke up throwing up today though and with a high fever at that. Last week it was my 3 year old. So I have to make sure I take my blood pressure meds today cause he'll be home and I have tons and tons of work to do. I am sure he'll be laid back though because he's sick. We'll see.
So my official start weight is 252.4. I seriously felt like I had gained weight...I was leaning towards being about 260. Anyway, I have to work so till later. God Bless.
I am SO stinken excited! Today is the Optifast meeting BUT I am just going for the thrills. I actually signed up online for the New Lifestyle diet. The dude from Optifast called me to confirm today's appt and said "if you decide to join it will be $95 sign up fee". So I thought...so my first month on Optifast will really be closer to $500 then $400 every 4 weeks from there. I knew it was going to be expensive but I was still going to do it no matter what. I decided that this liquid diet (with occasional lean and green meal) was something that was for me! Anyway, I shifted away from many diet forums because when anyone mentioned "liquid diet" they were immediately attacked! So I googled Liquid diet forum and ran accross many liquid dieters that I knew I was going to be able to relate to and turn to for support. Soon I started to see people on Optifast getting support on this forum and I thought, so it doesn't appear that the support you are supposed to get at the meetings is enough. I started to see that many of these people were on Medifast but most were on New Lifestyle. I went to their website and discovered MUCH lower prices and comments about how their shakes, soups and bars tastes so mch better and were a lot more satisfying.
On Friday I decided to order the products and I am supposed to get my shipment today for a start date of tomorrow. Tomorrow will be the beginning on a new lean ME and I can't tell you how excited I am. I know it will be difficult the first few days especially since I have been such a big eater lately. I can't wait to see the shape of my face again and my belly go down significantly. Right now I have the belly of a 6 months old pregnant person. For real.
Anyway, I just wanted to show you how I am bursting at the seams with excitement (excuse the pun)..LOL..Just for fun I am going to be posting lots of pics. The first pics I will post will be once I earn my first GOLD STAR with New Lifestlye which will be when I loose 21.25 pounds. From there on I will post pics at every 10 pound loss. Pray for me please! God Bless.
I have not blogged for a while! It's been a combination of me getting super organized at home, My kids (and husband) being very needy, to new changes in where we serve at church (ministry wise)and last but not least to me not loosing weight. So I've prayed and prayed about this A lot. In the past, it has taken me about a year and a half to actually have the will power to loose the weight and stay focused but I don't feel like I have that this time around. My body is just tired all the time and I do not have the motivation to loose this extra extra weight. SO...my husband hurt himself at work and I went with him to the doctor to get checked out and while I was sitting there I saw the flyer I've seen multiple times on the Dr's desk. It reads "Optifast" and "Optislim". I looked into it significantly and decided Optifast is for ME! I know I know, A lot of people are against these liquid diets because some people gain the weight back once they go back to regular eating. I have A LOT more energy when I am thinner and I know for a fact that once I am done loosing these 80 pounds, looking at myself in the mirror will be motivation enough to STAY thin. So when I called early this month they said that the orientation was April 1st and I tried hard and heck to get in earlier because I was SOOO motivated! I wanted to get started then and it's been quite hard waiting for next week to come around. BUT I'm glad I had to wait because I had this entire month to focus and to realize how badly I needed this. I feel like right now, this is my only option. They teach you how to eat and best of all there is psych classes you have to take. I meet once a week which is fabulous and you get evaluated by the Dr. once a week which is what will help me feel at ease that my body is getting the nutrition it needs daily. My insurance covers most of it but I still have to pay about $400 a month out of pocket which is expensive but that's how much I would be spending on food anyway. I will have my daily foods. I won't be stressed about eating the wrong thing because I will have my foods with me at all times.
The ladies conference at my church is coming soon and I need to mentally prepare for that because everyone goes out to eat together and I know the one thing that is going to suck is everyone bugging me about "not eating". The same goes for our church banquet. It's May 2nd and we sit at a table and eat and I won't be eating there! So I will have to improvise. I am sure that by then I will have gotten the hang of how to manuever my way around those types of situations. It will take about 4 months approx. for me to loose those 80 pounds. I hope it will be less time but that's about how long I think it's going to take me. I am going to work out extra hard to loose it faster (at the gym) but I'm not going to push it to the extreme.
Anyway, that's next Tuesday and I will be getting started on 4/2! Can't wait! God Bless.
Lately I have had this crazy urge to just leave Long Beach and move far from here. I think I let little things get to me. My mind is just nutty...it's a combination of my small place, but then I come to realize how good I have it. I am irrational most of the time so I have to stop and process these thoughts.
Yesterday someone mentioned to me that they were no longer going to be going to our Reformer's group at church (addictions program) and she told me that her son wasn't going to be going either because he feels very depressed afterwards. He stuggled with addictions for years, he's a young guy and actually had a child with a girl while they were both addicted to drugs....ANYWAY..the reason he thinks he feels depressed is because he feels he is revisiting all the bad memories from when he was on drugs. I think this is kinda maybe how my husband is feeling. I feel like this sometimes too! I love RU though and the ladies in my group that I God has blessed me to counsel but I feel depressed after it's all over! My husband for sure. I think he has a calling to work with boys with no father figure. He really has a heart for them because I think he understands them. These boys gravitate to my husband. He is very very straight-to-the point type of person and will not lie to you if you ask him to be honest. He's like this especially with these boys and they look for him at church all the time. Some of these single mom's although they try to provide as much as possible for their boys, they can never take the place of a father. Last night, pastor was very passionate about DOING SOMETHING about it!! He told everyone "I know the Holy Spririt has put SOMETHING in your heart and you need to come and talk to me so we can discuss this and possible act on what is being placed in our hearts".
The Holy spirit has placed the same exact feeling in my heart for my husband and I think I have gotten that feeling because I need to be supportive of my husband. I am not necessarily being called to do something at the church because I need to care for my home and support my husband. It makes a lot of sense. For things to fall together like a puzzle is not easy. So today I am going to suggest to him that he talk to Pastor.
Ok as for my eating...it's been not so great since early last week but I am getting back on track today. I need to squeeze in gym workouts as well during this week. Ok well that's all for now. Till later God bless.
Life has just been passing me by! I can't believe how fast time flies. It's scary and sad but yet good in a weird way. I am in such a weird mood! I have been so busy trying to get my house clean for the past two weeks! I mean don't get me wrong my house is pretty clean but when it comes down to getting to the real cleaning it was so totally not. I have literally been scrubbing walls and getting rid of older furniture and just things that I don't need anymore. Saturday we went and picked up our new sofa. I basically got it for $650 (includes the rental of a U-haul trailer). I decided to buy a used sofa because A) I didn't want to spend $1400 for a badly built sofa that looked nice on the outside but was made of cheap materials and bad construction B) I would of had to of paid $100 for scotch guard and last but not least TAX. So I got this couch from this rich couple that basically changed their minds on the color of the sofa they wanted in their family room and they paid over $2,000 for it AND got the best scotch guard on it. Bonus was they got it cleaned for us before we picked it up and spent almost $200 doing that alone. So I think it was a super great deal. THEN I bought a patio set for $30 from some couple moving to Washington.
We were just going to move our old couches out but while we were moving things out of the house to make room for our new and improved sofa, we realized how dirty our white carpet was. So off my husband ran to rent a commericial grade carpet cleaning machine that only costs $20 to rent AND does an excellent job at cleaning. Don't get me wrong the thing is heavy and will kick your butt. Let's just say that on Sunday, we were all exausted and didn't even make it to church. I was in SO much pain because of all the work we did, I had to keep poppin Ibuprofen every 4 hours. My arms were killing me. Sunday we went to JCPENNEY bought new drapes, had the worst time with customer rep and the district manager gave us a HUGE discount on anything we were going to buy the next day. I ended up buying a very very nice rug for living room (chocolate brown) for $28. Original price was $170.
Yesterday we cleaned out our garage and I think my husband is a bit relieved about that. I seriously think that was getting to him. He wants to fix the boat, he wants to get the motor running for the boat but things were in the way! So we got rid of things and now I feel better too!
Ok well I am at work today and have tons of things to do. Till later! God bless.
I haven't added photos to my flikr since like forever so gotta work on that this weekend. I've spent two birthdays at my parents house and when I turned 30, two weeks before I got pregnant with my 3rd child, I was getting to my thinnest weight and I was really proud of what I had accomplished. This year I was at my biggest weight to date. Quite depressing and it would be more depressing if I wasn't doing anything about it. I've lost 14 pounds since my "fatest picture EVER" (not to mention I look like cousin "IT" with THAT hair) but I am still big. I've got some weight to drop before I get there but I am making my way there and that's what counts. Seriously, I can't even LOOK at that picture for long but I HAVE to make myself look at it. I don't see myself that fat, but I am....
My long lost best friend, who stopped talking to us because we were Baptist Christians instead of just regular christians I guess, has been e-mailing me lately. I wonder if God's been convicting her of her decision to cut us out of her life? I was very confused and didn't understand why she did that. I mean, I would understand if I was an atheist and her a devout christian and we butted heads constantly and had NOTHING in common, but we believe in the same God, Salvation by grace through faith, as a free gift of God, through Jesus Christ our Savior. My christianity is not really different from hers except for TWO things that I KNOW bugged her really bad about our church....in our denomination we don't have women preachers and we don't listen to rock christian music, there are a few other things but those TWO things is what she was really peeved about. She wants to be a preacher and she listens to rock christian music. I am totally NOT judging her because I mean, to me, there's nothing wrong with that, it doesn't say in the bible that a christian cannot listen to rock music, but I've come to see that it does lead christian astray. I would of never cut off my friendship with her over that. In fact, that sounds ludicrous. Anyway....she starting by sending me e-cards and asking me a question here and there which she hasn't done in a couple of years...I stopped trying to communicate with her and trying to basically convince her that I was a person just like her and now she's starting to make the effort I suppose.
So tomorrow me and my husband are going to go to the Long Beach Marine Boat Auction! I am SOOOOO excited. We are SO close to having our boat up and running! This weekend after the auction, Brother John and his dad, which are excellent car and boat mechanics are coming over for lunch AND to help my husband put together the motor that's going to go on our boat! We are also supposed to go to Los Angeles to pick out the carpet that's going to go on the boat. The one it has now has to be replaced. I can't wait to take my kids on a cruise on our little boat! There are tons of canal type water areas (connected to the ocean) that we can cruise on....so exciting and a blessing from God!
Hope you have an excellent weekend! God Bless.
I have been so super swamped lately. Life and work. My eating was not THE best this weekend but most of it was grilled of some sort. I just didn't measure portions because I was basically out and about. I have not weighed myself because I FEEL all the water I am retaining due to AF. Once that's gone I will. Workouts have basically been me running around, walking A LOT...hopefully it's doing something.
I had a looong talk with my hubby about me cooking healthy for my family. There's been a lot of cheating on their side and I put my foot down and said I was refusing to continue to spend hours planning and making healthy meals for them if the second they stepped out the door they find a cheeseburger and fries in their mouth. The decision to change HAS to come from them. I'm not MAKING them do anything. I told him and Alexis to let me know once they were ready.
Today I am at work and they are buying us lunch. Anyway...my e-mails are rolling in and I have tons of work. Till later...God bless.
I'm missing my family so much right now.... It would be so great so just go over to my sisters house or have them come over from time to time. I'm sure I've written about this before, especially when we come back from visiting during the holidays. My mom likes to go for walks but my other two sisters are lame when it comes to hanging out with my mom or doing stuff with her. I mean, besides just running errads and such with her. I've talked about moving closer to them but we haven't exactly gotten God's blessing on that and I don't want to move anywhere without his blessings. Who knows what life would turn out to be if we went against what He has in store for us. Hopefully I can drive out there for a visit soon. I think I might, and let Sergio stay home by himself to relax. I am sure he would enjoy going fishing or something without having us call him and asking him what time he was going to get home.
I did my taxes online for the very first time! My state taxes were already approved but I think I messed up with my last name on the federal. I just realized it too. I still haven't changed my maiden name to my married name and my tax guy always submits it with my maiden name because of that. I didn't make that change online. Stinks. Oh well I will have to fix it if it gets rejected. I've been married for almost 11 years and ya'd think I would of done that by now huh? I just went to the social security site and got the application. I will handle it this month :-)
Weight loss land has brought me up a pound! I am not worried because #1 - I am not taking my meds because I am out and I have to go to the dr. today to get an annual tests, some blood work THEN I can get a re-fill on my meds. #2 - I officially started my monthly..I think..I think it's been a month since the last one. I need to go back and read through my posts because that's the only way I remember. I bought a calendar for my purse so I will actually start to document this stuff. #3 - I am constipated...yuk I know. I didn't drink as much water as I should of yesterday. oh and #4 - I lost body fat. I guess that's the most important thing. Body fat loss. I am down 2% for my body fat.
Well I guess that's it. I have lots of work and not enough time. Till later..God Bless.
Time flies. Today is already Thursday. My husband is working in San Clemente but he's only working there this week or until he can go to some Metrolink train training. The carpenters have to be certified when they work on a train project. So he's not yet certified and until they hold that class he can't go back on the jobsite or the company gets fined. He has Union Carpentry school next week anyway which he HAS to attend. He has to study for his Class A license too. He passed most of those truck driver classes. Now that he's got most of the licenses that are required, he has to train on actually driving the buses to pass the driving part of the test. It will be a blessing but we'll be seeing less of him on Sundays and Fridays. I am sure God will bless him for helping others.
Yesterday I had a much better day that originally anticipated. I am out of meds though so I need to call the pharmacy to see if my OB approved my Metformin. I didn't make yesterday a full protein day because I had some veggies in my chicken soup but it's ok. I was ready to have some veggies. I worked out at the gym for an hour and a half and I think I burned almost 400 calories. I sat in the sauna for 10 minutes. I do my after work out stretching in there. I was sweating like a hog yesterday. Within a minute of working out on the stairmaster I felt my sweat dripping which was awesome becuase it usually takes me 6-7 even 10 minutes before that happens. I went on the bike, treadmill and also did some weight training.
Overall everything is getting better day by day. I had breakfast early this morning with Alexis. I am able to eat more carbs as of today so I had 1 whole egg and 1 egg white, peice of whole wheat toast and a slice of turkey ham (grilled in pam). It was very satisfying. I need to get away from eating the yolks...I know on ALL my eggs. I didn't think I was going to be satisfield with the egg whites but I was! I need to buy some egg substitute at Costco this weekend. I think the Albertson's brand substitute eggs are much better I seem to remember.
Ok so for the loss - I am down to 245.6 which makes total loss so far 4.4 pounds on day 4. I am going to work out all week to. It hasn't been as much as I have planned of course but I just need to get better organized. I will today. I am making my priority list right now of things to do. Until later. God Bless.
I was on the hunt for grilled type of veggie recipes and I found two really good ones that I added to my recipes site. I was also reading the biggest loser site and they went over BBQ'ing. Two things I learned is you can brush your veggies with a little olive oil and vinaigrette and they turn out moist and delish. Also, when the BBQ fire is down for the most part, add some fruit to the grill and let it cook slowly. They recommended a pear or peach. I think a pear would be so good! Add some fat free cool whip on to that and you have a hot pie type dessert. I think today we might try and BBQ. I have some chicken breasts I wanted to BBQ for salads and for my main protein.
As of this morning I am down another .08 pound almost a pound! My weight is now 246.4.I only worked out at work and not the gym yesterday cause the meds are really kicking in. The nausea yesterday was horrible. I didn't think I would of been able to keep things down if I would of gone to the gym. I was active all day though so today I will drag myself to the gym even if it means being sick. I have to shake these side effects off of they are going to keep me down. My migraines are returning as well which totally sucks! I'll have to work around them too. I am sure they are more like sugar headaches...or lack there of.
I am just really feeling it today. I think I might request a day off later this week. Maybe Friday. I'll see where I am at when it comes to workload. Anyhoo.....God Bless.
I am on day two of protein day and I am feeling pretty good. I am supposed to take 2 vitamins a day and I have to remember to freeze them cause I keep tasting them and smelling them. ICK! Anyway, I had a good eating day yesterday. It was sort of stressful though cause I had so much going on but when my husband got home from working, I was able to run out to the gym with Alexis and I had a really good workout. I actually stayed on the stairmaster for 20 minutes which I have never done before. My hip/joint was hurting for some reason though but I think it just needed to pop into placce or something. It was weird. I got on the treadmill after that and walked it off. I did some weight training but had to cut it short because I had to go to the Ladies Missionary circle meeting at 7pm. We basically get assigned a missionary from out in the field and when they come to visit we give them a decorated shoebox filled with goodies. I picked a missionary from Australia, a male.
I weighed in this morning to a 2.8 pound loss. All water but it's a loss. I was SO bloated. I had chinese food on Saturday for lunch. On Sunday I had a big salty breakfast, a 1/2 chicken bake and hot dog from Costco for lunch and I can't even remember what I had for dinner. On Sunday night before we left to church I was sweating and it was raining outside. Then I felt my knuckles sort of tight. By the time we got to patch and were with the bus kids, I had to take off my coat and take my blood pressure pill (which I NEVER do) cause I figured my blood pressure was way sky high. I think I just pushed it a bit with the salty weekend food.
Yesterday I was driking lots of water and man I was in that toilet all day. I was getting tired of going but I felt like I was deflating! Relief.
So anyway, I am no longer 250 (that number is super hard to type). I was just thinking on my drive here to work, wow it's going to take a loss of 47.2 to get to where I was at before which was 200 pounds. I wasn't near happy at that weight but I remember starting to feel and look pretty good. It's going to be a little bit of a journey to get there but I will hopefully be there soon enough!
Till later. God Bless.
2 Corinthians 5:19
"That is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation."
This weekend was full of revelations. I'm not going to say much about it because it's going to sound like a bunch of bull. I come back to check on someone's weight loss progress only to find they have given up. Don't get me wrong, I've done this many of times and I am sure if someone out there reads my blog (hi Florence!) they've thought the same thing.
All I am going to say is you are going to see WEIGHT L O S S happen in the next few months.
2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefor if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new
God bless
My son has been sick for the past few days. I had to give him a bath before I went to work yesterday. He apparantly threw up at some point at night from coughing even though I set the humidifier. He got "stuff" everywhere. It was something I was not looking forward to cleaning up at 3:15am. Anyway, I got him bathed and changed, his bed cleaned up and put him back to sleep with my husband. I went to work and was super busy all day. My day flew by. I got to have lunch with my co-worker with was a blessing and off to home I went.
I made some carne asada tacos for dinner with some mexican soup, cleaned up afterwards and sat on my bed and did some bible journaling. I read Proverbs 23 and chapter 1-4 of Exodus. I never realized how interesting Exodus was! I probably went to bed at 8pm. My family was watching a movie and I just needed to get some rest. I have not caught up from my sleep from being up with my son late at night. The rain was coming down really hard, it was literally storming which we don't see very often in Southern California. Before dinner we even opened the door to watch.
Workouts have been non existent obviously but I'm not getting down on myself. Health comes first and I knew that if I didn't get enough rest I was going to catch what was going around. I need to build my immunity system up to combat the sickness all around me. Everyone at church is sick too!
I am SO into biggest looser this time around! I think I mentioned that already but it's ok! I can't believe the Pink team got sent home! Sucks that the whole competition part of it gets people that deserves to stay kicked off. I guess that's how the whole thing goes. I've NEVER watched the biggest loser religiously but I love it! It really gives me motivation that it can really be done. One of the guys from the balck team was in tears over loosing over 50 pounds in 4 weeks.
Anyway, I guess that's it. I need to get back to work because I have tons more work today. OH! I was able to wear my jeans yesterday and I was comfortable in them! It felt really good! Chat later and God Bless!
I started taking my Metformin medication again yesterday because my period is so off! It keeps coming and going. Very irritating. I'm working out eating good and so I figured it would help with some of the occasional cravings and also to do what it is mostly help me do, control my insulin levels. I will start to loose more weight this way as well which is good! I weighed myself this morning and was dissapointed...but of course I only started to be very serious a couple of weeks ago so...I wait..and I will be patient. I am super sleepy today though usually the result of the meds for the first few days. The nausea is kicking in too.
My son is sick so he's home with me today and he's quite the complainer. I am super busy at work and he's got diarhea so the diaper changes are exausting! Anyway, I gave him a bath on my break and put him to sleep. Luckily he slept for a while and he woke up in better spirits. Now he's watching the movie CARS. He is such a boy. Anyway, I am going to eat my home made chicken soup. These are all the organic things I bought at the farmer's market including chicken. It was a small chicken but perfect for the soup!
Have a nice weekend. God Bless.
WOW~ My meeting with the Health Coach went better than anticipated. I was super nervous when I walked in to meet him. I saw a scale sitting on the desk similar to the one I have at home (the one that measures body fat as well). But I quickly got over it and he made me feel super comfortable. He was impressed with my knowledge of foods and basically my body and what worked for me. We went over some nutrition stuff briefly and made me set realistic goals. You know me and those crazy goals (that I can never meet by the way). Anyway, I told him I was sort of clueless on workouts. I didn't know WHAT I should be doing and how much. There are so many contradicting reports out there. SO he made a workout schedule for me!! I meet with him again in one month and he asked me to try and get at least one training session with a trainer at my gym so they can show me how to properly do the workouts on the machine.
I went to the gym tonight. My husband made dinner (a healthy dinner) and it was really good! I had already chopped up the meat and stuff but he still made the effot and when I came home dinner was on the table. How NICE!!!
Work has been super hectic but today I went in to the office and it was nice. I also went to a time management seminar and I didn't think I would learn new things but it was an eye opener. I had a lot of personal revelations while I was there.
I had my annual review and I am supposed to be due for a good raise. I don't know how good but it's supposed to be alright. Then our monthly bonuses are going to start kicking in soon. Instead of getting a quarterly bonus it's going to be monthly which will add $3200 to my salary. Not a lot of money but that's babysitter money!!
Um what else??? I have to make a note of this because I am SO bad with writting baby stuff down. Gabriel started to officially walk last week. FINALLY! The kid is almost 16 months this month! I can't believe how long it took him to walk. Scary thing is this KID IS SOOOOOO BULLHEADED. I mean he's pretty bad. He is NOTHING like my other kids. He will climb on anything if he can pull his little body up, he's there. I find him all over the house, on my huge bed, my dining room table, on window sills, I mean it's scary. I have to constantly be chasing after him. He got an official BOY haircut this week and he looks adorable.I'll have to post a pic soon. His hair got really long and it almost looked like the kid had a wig on. He he he....anyway gotta go...gonna spend time with my hubby because tomorrow he starts another job (with the same union) GOD BLESS!
I dragged my butt to the gym last night and I felt great. I feel that I need to step it up a bit. I am going to do this gradually though. I don't want to dread going to the gym because my workouts have become too strenous. Alexis went with me upstairs (where all the equipment is at) for the first time and she loved it! So we're going again today but earlier. It was pretty packed when we showed up and got worse by the time we left. I sat and relaxed in the sauna for about 10 minutes.
I went to the grocery store to grab a few ingredients we needed for lunch and dinner and rushed home to watch the biggest loser only to find out that there was an outage in my area. Sheesh! So I was super mad and ended up taking a nice shower and going to bed. I had to get up at 3:00am to be here at work by 5:00am. I switched my days this week because I want to go to a seminar they are holding here at work on Time Management. I am also meeting with a health coach in about an hour! I am scared and excited at the same time.
Anyway, I need to find out what went down on the biggest loser last night so chat later. God Bless.
I need to go back to my post where I said I was going to work out 2 hours a day to get that motivation back. I've been making excuses left and right and I am doing something about it. After I work out I feel GREAT and like I accomplished something! My husband is supposed to start going with me and if he doesn't go with me I am going alone!
I feel lame writing this....I really do....because I am not doing my best....I feel like a hypocrite.
I went to workout yesterday after I got off work and it felt great! I can't wait to get some of this excess weight off of me so I can get the courage to use the exercise ball and some other cool stuff they have. Right now I am working on just cardio although I will start some strengthening workouts next week possibly even tomorrow Saturday. I'll go early so I don't flake out on doing some of those workouts.
Eating has been pretty good. I still think I snack too much and I am going to log my foods on Fitday right now to get a reality check. The food I pre-cooked the other day came in handy last night. I didn't have time to cook so I whipped out some frozen veggies and steamed them and heated up the chicken. I made a spring salad (salad is chopped and washed already) and made my own dressing with olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette. My husband even liked it! Lauren was here yesterday, she got sent home from school cause her shirt was too tight. She has big boobs for a 15 year old and they tend to be a bit sensitive to what she wears. She does it on purpose though cause she knows what clothes make her boobs stand out and the shirt that she had on yesterday was one of them. On the other hand though I understand where she's coming from. You can't wear a cute shirt without looking like you're trying to flaunt them. But oh well that's the life of a big breasted girl.
One of my good buds is having some marital problems and I feel for her because of the pain and suffering that one goes through during this difficult time. If I have any praying readers will you pray for her and her husband? We all have ups and downs in our marriages and it's just plain hard.
My marriage overall is great even though I have been complaining about my husband so much lately. I don't know if I am just extra sensitive because I started my monthly on Saturday. I mean the things that we go through are pitiful things. It's more like bickering and childish fights. I say that because we have gone THROUGH IT in the past. Our church actually saved us from divorce and is probably the reason why we are still married after 10 years. The things we have learned there took the attention off some of the happiness we expected to get out of this world but never found. Just when you think you have it all, you'll notice, there's something missing. That something is not materialistic either. Some people don't believe in God, but I on the other hand think He is THE almighty, like John 8:12 says "Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life."
As I went to the alter yesterday at church, I prayed that He forgive me for not putting Him first in my life like I should have. We ask God to do things for us and to help us through this and that and we haven't felt His presense because we have not sanctified ourselves. We are so filthy in our lives, we are so involved with the things of this WORLD that we don't realize when God's trying to speak to us. I am going to start listening. I need Him now in my life more than ever and I hcan only pray that He shows up. God Bless.
Gosh I was so overwhelmed today! I had to make breakfast and lunch this morning before my daughter went to school. She took salmon for lunch and apparantly changed her mind about liking it. Too fishy for her I guess. I wanted to make some crab cakes but I need to find a good recipe. I think she'll like those.
I am busy at work too and it's just nuts all around. I am going to the gym today for a while so I can't wait. I need to wait for my husband to come home though at around 3:30 and I will be ready to go once he get's here. I am going to cook dinner on my lunch break so that will be handled. Tomorrow is church so I need to be prepared early in the day.
I watched biggest loser last night and I felt so bad for them because a lot of them didn't loose that much weight. I knew that the couple that got eliminated where going to go because they seemed very determined to loose the weight regardless of what was going to happen. You can see how hard it is for them to leave their little one's behind. It's almost a treat to be able to come home and loose weight with your loved ones around you.
Well I guess that's it for now. God bless.
I'm at work today and I walked in to a brand new flat screen....nice! I love my job. They are so fricken nice to me. They let me work from the comfort of my own home and they like me!! I haven't been here for like 3 weeks though because the holidays were landing on Tuesdays which is the day I am supposed to come in. My boss didn't require me to come in any of the other days so that worked out nicely. I like to come in once in a while.
I can't tell you how different I feel! I can't. My attitude after this fast has changed 100000%. It's like the negative and depressing ME was flushed away down the toilet (excuse the pun)! It may rear it's ugly head later but for now I feel positive and I am going to continue to tell myself that I can do this. I am a good person that deserves to look the way I've only dared to dream about my entire life!
This season I am watching the bigest loser like many other people and I have my husband hooked too. He's getting inspired by it all. He sees the really big guys on there loosing the weight and although they are in a different atmosphere where all they think about is loosing weight and they have like hours upon hours dedicated to working out, we can loose at least a quarter of the weight they are loosing on the show. Instead of spending so much time glued to the TV, we can spend that time doing active things. That includes making more time to read our bible.
So I did two things yesterday. My job has this healthy gig thing going. Counselors come in and try and help you loose weight ot get healthy if you are at ideal weight. They help you set a healthy goal and they have this 1:1 coaching too. They have Yoga classes in the building! They have a walking club AND they give you gift cards for joining and working out during the month! They've been sending those e-mails to us for months and months and when I got one yesterday my eyes were opened and I thought "why don't you JOIN one of them"? So I did!! I've joining the walking club on Tuesdays at noon. How spesh is that? For extra money on my gift card, I can journal my workouts and my dietary intake so the counselors can help you modify any if needed. Wow..I'm taken aback.
The second thing I did was sign up for The Bigest loser blog thing-a-ma bob. The nation loosing weight thing....yeah that. I signed me and my hubby up. I'm going to be blogging on there so I can stay in the race. Who knows maybe they have some special prize. That would be nice.
Anyway, what else is up? Oh I was out and about running errands after I picked my daughter up from school and dropped her off at home so she could do her homework and she calls me and says "Mom I am ready to start tomorrow" and I asked her what she meant and she continued "I was buttoning up my school shirt this morning, and remember how it was really loose on me when we started to loose weight?....well it's TIGHT on me now and I'm not comfortable like this so I want to start healthy eating tomorrow" and I told her I was glad she made that decision on her own and I would be there to help her along.
All in all it's been a great week to start. Many people are excited like me and they say that statistic show that 80% of people make resolutions and only 20% accomplish their goal. I am going to be that 20%, me and my family anyway. God bless.
Yes I am ending the fast today. I don't know what happened to my body yesterday but I was extremely weak! I kept dropping stuff (including the maple syrup all over my kitchen floor, yes the expensive maple syrup!) and I debated all day whether I should quit. I asked my family to go with me for a walk to the park. It was on the verge or raining so we hurried and got dressed in warm clothes and took about a mile walk. My son was bored beyond belief in the house so it was a good idea to get out of the house. I felt a bit better when we got back. I took a nice hot long shower and relaxed. I started to feel a bit more dizzy as the day went on though even though I was drinking my lemonade drink AND I had not gone to the bathroom AT ALL.
I got a phone call from a family friend from church and she organized a ladies get together at her house (which included food) I told her I would try to make it because at this point I felt super dizzy. But I decided to go because the ladies in my RU group would be there and I didn't want to feel guilty about not going. PLUS, I got to get out of the house for a few hours. By then I decided it was time to end my fast. I wasn't plannin on eating there so I bought a veggie soup at the market next to her house.
I had a good time but I was still dizzy. It was so bad at some point I kept loosing my balance. I did have some spinach salad and a taquito and I was scared all the way home on how my stomach was going to handle it. Well the spinach salad came back up. It felt like it was in my throat the whole time. Anyway, I drank my laxative tea this morning to get the last of whatever is old in my stomach.
I've felt really on the edge lately. I've been snapping at my husband so much about things these past few days (I wrote about one instance from Friday). I know I am MOM and MOM handles lots of things and I can but sometimes it would be nice if I got some help! I do everything on Sunday mornings from ironing, breakfast (feed Gabriel also), cleaning, getting kids ready for church (which includes, hair combing, socks, shoes, teeth brushing, face cleaning), Buttoning husbands top shirt button, fixing collar....then there's ME. I know I am feeling sorry for myself and I shouldn't but I will sulk for now....anyway, I called my husband ungrateful this morning. He got mad, I walked out and didn't go to church with them. I know it's really childish of me but at the time I was REALLY mad. I convinced myself that darn it I should be mad, I got home from my ladies get together yesterday and the sink was piled high with dishes which I didn't do till now....and boy was I mad washing them.
Anyway, I gotta start slow with my eating but I ate an english muffin and a piece of bacon for breakfast. My stomach is feeling it right now. Alright well tomorrow I start a low carb diet AND my two hour a day workouts. WHICH I WILL DO. I will do it. I am NOT going to come on here and give excuses on WHY I didn't do it. I want to get out of this fat body ASAP. I am sick and tired of being fat already. There are no excuses whatsoever anymore. Can you tell I am still mad? LOL....Ok cheering up now.
God bless.
I am definitely in toxin removal mode I can tell ya that much. It was the worst day to be out and about yesterday too but I had to still how up for my RU group of ladies. I was NOT feeling it though because I was freezing cold and my stomach was just messed up. I had to keep going to the bathroom and it was pouring rain. I usually get home at around 10:30pm. Because we only took one car and my husband shuttles the folks with no car home, I had to wait for him in the auditorium with my kids, running around being crazy and all I wanted to do was come home. I will never go in one car with him. It took way too long and it caused some friction between him and I last night. I didn't have enough of my drink so my sugar was already low and I got upset with him because he can't have a normal discussion without getting defensive so I went to bed. The result? A massive, low blood sugar, brain hurtin' headache. It hurt! I feel so dehydrated this morning too. The first thing I did was hook me up some of my special drink. I feel better.
It's still kinda early for a Saturday but I am going to work a few hours today because I got REALLY busy at work yesterday. Well I have to work so gotta go. I'm sure I will be back later. God Bless for now.
I was hungry all day yesterday and at night I felt so super sick. I felt like I was getting a cold. I am going to be entering a stage of purging toxins from my body so I may feel all of these symptoms randomly throughout the day. The one thing that has not left me are the headaches. I've had at least one a day. Today I didn't wake up with one though. But I am sure I will have one later in the day.
I've been trying not to stress although yesterday late morning I felt like a madwoman. I was just MAD. I was just waiting from someone to say something crazy to me so I can chop their head off. I calmed down after recognizing this. I told Serg I wasn't in a very good mood and he made me feel better.
Went to church last night and felt ok. My stomach was making all sorts of noises though and I am glad I took some water with me to drink.
**Grosse section**
I am still getting rid of solids and I have officially not had any food for 5 days! I get stomach cramps galore when I wake up but immediately feel so much better when I'm done. I am still craving food. Like I am dying for some home made hot wings. But MOST of all I am craving a veggie sandwich with alfalfa sprouts. I found a delish recipe and am posting it on here so I can come back when I am cleared to eat solids again (I think on day 13 or so). I also want some hummus REALLY bad. I went to the farmer's market this past weekend and had a taste of some organic jalapeno and cilantro hummus. At first I thought it was a little expensive but when I really thought about it, it was not bad, $4 for a small container. I've found that with hummus it's really hit and miss when it comes to taste with many brands. So far the only one I've liked is the one from Costco but they don't carry the brand I like anymore!! The other one is the one from Trader Joe's and that one was about $4 and half the size of the one from the farmer's market. I wanted to go back this weekend to get them but it's supposed to rain and rain for days starting today AND my first day to eat solids won't be until next Saturday *sigh*. So I won't be going back to get my fix for another week.
Here is the recipe
Cucumber Sprout Sandwich
Ingredients
2 slices whole wheat bread
2 tbs. cream cheese, softened (I'm going to add hummus instead)
6 slices peeled cucumber
2 tbs. alfalfa sprouts
1 tsp. olive oil
1 tsp. red wine vinegar
1 tomato, sliced
1 romaine (cos) lettuce leaf
2 tbs. pepperoncini, sliced
1/2 avocado, peeled and mashed
salt and pepper to taste
I think I am going to add an evening post daily. Most of the time, my mood changes by the time I am done with this post! I am such a rollercoaster, from feelings, to body changes, to everything else. Anyway, hope you have a blessed day.
Whew...seems like the days are sort of dragging. Today feels like Day 5 and not 4. The rest of yesterday was ok. I was sort of hungry yesterday and I was reading that when you get hungry to take SIPS of the lemonade drink and not drink the whole thing at once, which I was doing. I found that it worked! I got hunger pangs and I took a sip and that did the trick for at least 1/2 an hour. I just drank the drink for about and hour and a half and I found that I drank a lot less. I can have up to 12 8 oz drinks of it but if you are trying to loose weight in addition to the cleanse you have to restrict that a bit. But I do have to drink at least 6 of the drink.
I found that when my nose smells food or is around food my body automatically starts to get hungry. I had to cook dinner, not once but TWICE yesterday and it was a bit hard. Just automatically putting stuff in your mouth without thinking is hard. I even made cookies to torture myself a little more. He he he. I had to make dinner for one of the ladies at our church that had a miscarriage. All the ladies are taking her dinner all week long and it was my turn yesterday. I made her some yummy spaghetti, garlic bread and my special cookies. The garlic bread smell is what was getting to me. I LOVE garlic bread. Smells delish. Anyway, I then made the SAME thing again for my family. I haven't been sitting with them at the table which is hard! We're use to eating dinner together every night and Alani keeps asking me why I'm not sitting with them at the table.
I can't wait to be done because of that. I hope the days fly by. Today is supposed to be another hard day. I'm taking today off to run some errands and get some laundry done. The only one up at this point is Gabriel.SO anyway, hopefully today is not hard. I am going to try and be out and about so I don't think about food 24-7.
My sister in law lives next to me and she has a big back yard and she's moving to Arizona so we are hoping that we can move into that house so we can hook up the back yard! Remeber I mentioned planting out own garden? Well that would be ideal. Then in the summer spending time back there would be SO great! So we will see. :-)
I'm still alive..just kidding! Of course I'm still alive. Just reading my post from yesterday reminds me of that horrible headache. I actually woke up with another one and had to take another exedrin. I don't know how this is going to affect my fast but I hope it's not in a bad way. I just can't take the headaches. They are not regular headaches, they are migraines and they keep escalating to an unbearable point and I can't take it. They get so bad that I start to feel like I am going to throw up.
I was in bed and sitting for a LOOOONG time yesterday. I did what I had to do at home and went to sleep while my daughter and husband went grocery shopping. I made them chili cheese hot dogs for lunch and fed my little one. I slept for about 2 hours.
My husband mentioned how much sleep I've been getting since I started this fast and it's TRUE! Remember I complained about how bad my sleep was getting? Well it's much improved and my nasal passages are SUPER clear. I just took and deep breathe right now and I can't tell you the difference!
I still miss eating food. I miss chewing I think and snacking on stuff. I keep trying to convince myself that I don't need this detox and I can just eat low carb. But I realized yesterday I would not of appreciated doing low carb if I wasn't doing this fast. I know that after slowly getting off I will appreciate food so much more!
I haven't weighed myself and I don't think I am going to until I am done. I will see if I can go longer than the 10 days but I am so totally looking forward to eating a nice bowl of hot soup next week. So we'll see. I might just keep chugging along. I am sure if I see nice weight loss results I will continue until I get off the super extra fat I have on my body. Today we are going to go for a walk at the Nature Center. Basically it's like a light hike through a forest in the middle of the city. You see all sorts of herbs, plants and animals. It's really nice. I need to get walking. I haven't done much since I started due to the headaches and feeling a bit weak. Today I feel MUCH better! The drink it totally keeping me satisfied when it comes to hunger.
So here's to Day 4. God Bless.
All I can say today is UGH! I feel like pure poop. I have a migraine that goes and comes. I did the salt water flush this morning instead of the herbal laxative tea drink because I wanted to have the morning "clean out" quickly. I took a hot bath and instantly felt better but this stupid migraine came back.
I guess since your body is ridding itself of all these toxins I've gotten the 3 things I've been getting hit with the past 2 months. #1 - Migraines #2 - sore throat #3 - tooth ache. I kid ya not.
So needless to say I am not feeling so hot today. I pray that this passes and I can move on with my cleanse. One great thing is my back is not absolutely killing me anymore which was the #1 symptom to go away so I guess that's one good thing. The migraine just throws a wrench it in though. Makes me want to give up and I really don't want to. So I am going to drink some water, some cleanse stuff (it's really good) and put my head down to rest in my room away from my kids. I guess it doesn't help that I have to clean the house, cook and take care of kids while I am going through this. I am trying not to sweat the small stuff though so we'll see what happens. Alrighty, Happy New Year and God Bless.
I am finally starting the cleanse! I had to get the book (and read it), the right ingredients which are really important for it's success and the right mindset. I decided to wait until after the holidays because it was just going to be too hard. My mom would of driven me absolutely nuts for one. I attempted to start yesterday but I did a bad job at preparing. I didn't drink my laxative tea the night before and I didn't drink it again in the morning so your system can get rid of all the extra extra junk in our body. Oh and I woke up with a migraine which went away with 2exedrins in the morning but the headache returned later while at church and that's when it hit me HARD!! I had to come home, take 2 more exedrins and eat something with them (can't take them on empty stomach). SO...in the longrun it was a good thing for me to start clean and the RIGHT way today.
I've thought about it alot and I am actually going to try and stay on this detox for over 10 days. Possibly 28 days or longer if my body is not telling me otherwise. I am going to document my daily feelings on here so they will vary from day to day I'm sure. I plan on starting my workouts soon too as soon as I am sure I'm not going to have to run to the bathroom.
I read a few journals of people that have done the cleanse and according to them they feel great after day 4. Day 1, 3 and 4 are supposed to be the hardest. I think that I will start my workouts after these days. I'm going to be home most of these days so we'll see how it goes. I can't wait to start and see a transformation in the way I feel and look. I am super excited about starting my healthy eating habits afterward too!
I weighed myself this morning and even though I had an idea of how much I weighed, it was still shocking. I weigh exactly what I thought I did and it's just nuts. I know I needed to see it for myself and this reassured my decision to move forward with this cleanse.
So today is New Year's Eve, I'm off work today and tomorrow and I am just going to enjoy my time with the kids and my husband and ring in the new year with hope and faith that this will be a better year for us. I pray for a wonderful year for you as well. God Bless.
Yep, I am actually taking out the trash..well not literally... I FINALLY settled on a cleanse and I was planning on starting it tomorrow but I don't have the things I need as of yet & I want to be 100000% prepared because I am not giving up half way through because I was missing something. Tomorrow is our Sunday School Christmas party and I was thinking "it's ok I don't have to eat" but I am going to have be practically attached to a toilet for the first 3 days. Let me tell you I CANNOT wait. My body feels absolutely miserable. I feel craptastic and I truly feel that before I can shed some weight I need to get rid of all the toxic stuff in my body. I seriously don't think I've felt as horrible as I do now. I've had migranes for DAYS now, my back is KILLING me and my sleep is absolutely HORRENDOUS. I wake up every hour on the hour. My body is screaming for me to help it and I'm coming to the rescue.
So this cleanse is for 7-10 days depending on if my body is done by the 7th day which I think I will need the full 10 days. The only issue with that is that 10 days from Saturday runs into Christmas and we'll be at my moms. I don't have to necessarily eat but I will be harrased non stop for "not eating" and I can totally hear my mom telling me how it's NOT healthy the cleanse is. I am a bit hesitant on waiting but I feel that this is urgent and I need to handle it ASAP!
More to come....God Bless
I have tons of thoughts in my head and I feel like I have to just type away. I need to do a cleanse! I've been online for hours trying to find one that is safe and suitable. My body is sluggish to the extreme and I NEED a cleanse for sure. There's this couple at my church that sell natural supplements but I always forget to ask how much cause you know with me that's what determines if I can do it or not.
My husband starts work again today PRAISE GOD! and so now he will be bringing in more money & we can actually buy healthy expensive foods again!! That's the first thing that came to my mind when he said "well....I go back to work tomorrow". He works for the carpenter's union so the jobs he works at are random and he never knows what he's going to be doing until he arrives at the jobsite (even though he is a Carpenter). He called me this morning to tell me he's going to be working on this big jobsite on 5 man made lakes where huge homes are built on. They are rebuilding their waterways or something and he gets to work IN THE WATER. He didn't sound excited in the least. He gets to wear the whole wet pants and boots and all that I suppose.
I come into the office to work once a week and I noticed that I can hardly get away from my desk. I feel extremely...how should I say this...timid and shy. But like really badly, almost like....what's that word...reclusive. I see people I know and I turn the other way so I don't have to talk to them. I'm finding that I am doing this at church now. The only reason I am still even talking to people is because I have my RU group of ladies. I am finding though that I am missing A LOT of church to the point where my husband will actually ask me "you going to church today"? which is really weird. I mean I am at church at least twice a week but thoughts of not going cross my mind at LEAST a dozen times. I change my mind about going or not going so many times before I actually step foot in that church building. Coming to work the ONE DAY my boss requires me to be here is now the same! I KNOW it's got to do with my weight and I can't wait to be rid of it. I don't think it's ever affected me this way. I actually feel sorry for myself. Not in a sympathetic sort of way, but sorry it's gotten to affect me this way. I'm not proud of who I have become and I can't wait to be myself again. I don't take pride in how I look and most of the time I am wearing really big clothes. I've NEVER been in a 2X and even though I do fit in a 1X (or XL) I steer away from them because you can see my fat stomach.
It looks like we are still going to my mom's for Christmas and my sister Nancy called me so I can bid on a treadmill for her!! It's local pick up only and she still doesn't really understand Ebay for some reason, so she's asking me to get it for her. Hopefully by the time we get there, she will have it and we can work out while I am there.
I need to stop feeling like there's all this pressure on me. I'm stressing myself out on lots of levels and I don't need to feel this way. This stress that I am creating for myself leads me to eat crap I feel will comfort me. Lauren, the teenager living with us is going to start going to her Dad's every weekend even though her Dad doesn't know that yet. He has cancer but looks to be feeling much better. He doesn't want her back, point blank but having her in my house is affecting my stress levels. She doesn't appreciate a lot of the things we are doing for her so I think she needs a bit of a reality check. Everything is harder with her there and once she does transition to being at home full time, it will be MUCH easier to do the things we need to do to lead a healthier lifestyle.
Hope you have a great day & God Bless!
Somethings happening....I'm beginning to actually feel like I WANT to loose weight. Like....I'm getting butterflies in my stomach about actually doing it. I'm envisioning myself being in my smaller clothes and THAT my friend is GREAT news for me. For some reason the past months..I've sort of wanted to loose weight but that "want" was not really 100% there. For me, it's GOT to be there. I just caught up on some blogs and other ladies are kicking butt! I am so happy for them and the excitement in their blogs is coming on and basically feeding the fuel to my fire.
My little sister is going to turn 30 this year, she's one of those gals that's overweight but still looks good. Like her legs don't rub together and stomach doesn't look all crazy over her pants...ya know, mushroom top. She's been really overweight before but she manages to keep herself in check now. Anyway, I called her and told her that we should get our butt in gear for her 30th b-day in April. We can so totally loose major poundage by then. That's over 5 month's away. So...I am going to do this and I am going to encourage her. I want to loose at least 15 pounds by X-mas. I'm going to do a cleanse this week (I totally need it). I have major toxins in my body that I totally need to shed. I was so sick this past weekend and I think that this unhealthy way of eating is totally contributing to it. So I have to look into doing a cleanse and go from there. I'm supposed to see my sister at Christmas again and I want to motivate her by her seeing me loose the weight. My sister is SOOOO pretty and she would look even more beautiful thinner and most importanly HEALTHIER! Plus I want her to have more confidence and maybe she can meet herself a nice young man with that newfound confidence.
So here's to shedding the pounds with God walking by our side. Amen.
Read below, it's from Greg Laurie...really great Devotion...
His Ultimate Purpose
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
— Romans 8:28
We must remember that God never tests us without a purpose or a reason. You might wonder, Why does God allow His children to go through these trials? The answer is God's ultimate purpose is that we might be conformed into the image of Jesus Christ.
There are many times in our lives when we will go through trials, and things will work out really well. That's when we love to quote Romans 8:28: "All things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." Many things that make no sense at the time will work out in the end.
A classic example of this is Joseph. Talk about things really going wrong! Joseph went out to visit his brothers on an errand for his father and the next thing he knew, he was sold as a slave. But with God's providence, he was elevated to a position of great authority. He was able to help his brothers and his father and do much good.
Another reason God allows trials is so we will become strong spiritually. James 1:2–3 says, "My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience." Different translations say that testing produces "heroic endurance" or "fortitude." James meant that trials will toughen us up and give us staying power. God wants iron to enter our souls.
Temptation can be endured and overcome. Remember that God's ultimate purpose in allowing trials in our lives is so that we might be conformed into the image of Jesus Christ.
I am such a procrastinator. I am gearing up to get myself back on track. I am dreading it in a way but looking forward to it mostly. My whole family has gotten off track and none of us are feeling very good. I have to really turn to God is help with dealing with dissapointments such as this. I ask myself "How can we be doing so good, then just fall off the wagon and not hop back on". I used to hop on really quick but I also have to remember that it was just me hoping on that wagon and not my entire family. I was supposed to encourage them and I didn't. BUT you live and learn and it's not too late! I keep thinking it's getting too late for me but it's so totally not!
So I am making menu's today and tomorrow, grocery lists and I actually don't have to get rid of too many things in my cupboards that don't belong there. A few things but mostly I have to BUY BUY BUY. Anyhoo, I am praying for strength please pray for me if you pray. God Bless.
